KOTA KINABALU: The forthcoming state elections, anticipated to take place in the middle of next year, hold significant importance for the people of Sabah.
In this context, former Petagas assemblyman Datuk James Ligunjang emphasised the necessity for committed leaders who will advocate for the rights of the state and its populace.
He highlighted the importance of these leaders in striving to free Sabah from unwarranted external influences that have led to various challenges and hardships, despite the state’s rich resources.
“Sabah’s resources should primarily serve the interests of its people, as envisioned in MA63.
“Robust and visionary leadership is essential to honour the aspirations of our ancestors and to ensure the prosperity of both the state and the Federation, thereby fulfilling the promises of Malaysia outlined in MA63,” he stated in a recent social media update.
Ligunjang further asserted that the people of Sabah require patriots who will work to rescue this cherished state from suffering and deprivation.
