Sabah government appreciates the contributions of KTC to rural communities – Jahid

TAMPARULI: The Sabah government acknowledges the support provided by Kim Teck Cheong (KTC) Consolidated Berhad to rural populations.

Minister of Rural Development Sabah, Datuk Jahid Jahim, said that the company has contributed to various initiatives aimed at alleviating the burdens faced by those in need, particularly in rural areas.

“We hope that such efforts will continue in the future, and we wish the company ongoing success in its business endeavours,” he remarked.

He made these comments during the launch of the diaper donation program from KTC Consolidated Berhad to the Breastfeeding Support Group Association (AKSSI) in the Tuaran District here on Monday.

Also present were the Political Secretary to the Minister of Rural Development Sabah, Jilias Lintar, and the Patron of AKSSI, Datin Malianah Ugau, along with representatives from the Single Mothers Association of Tenghilan.

Jahid, who is also the Tamparuli assemblyman, urged all beneficiaries, especially mothers with breastfeeding infants, to value such assistance.

“To the members of the AKSSI, work diligently and sincerely to ensure that all aid reaches the targeted groups, particularly those in rural areas who are in genuine need,” he stated.

Consequently, Jahid expressed his gratitude for the contribution and regarded KTC as one of the companies that actively engages with the community out of concern for the needs of the people in Sabah.

Earlier, the Executive Director of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad, Datuk Dexter Lau, said that the donation of disposable nappies would be distributed through the leadership channels of 73 state constituencies (DUN).

“The distribution of donations commenced in Tampa, where 100 boxes containing eight packs of nappies each will be distributed by AKSSI in this area,” he added.
