KOTA KINABALU: A notification regarding the vacant seats under Article 49A of the Federal Constitution, which involves six Members of Parliament from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) whose memberships have been immediately terminated, has been officially submitted and accepted by the office of the Dewan Rakyat Speaker today.
Bersatu Chief Whip Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee has confirmed that, on behalf of the party, all Notifications of Vacant Seats for the parliamentary seats P.030 Jeli, P.032 Gua Musang, P.059 Bukit Gantang, P.067 Kuala Kangsar, P.095 Tanjong Karang, and P.166 Labuan have been signed by him as the Bersatu Chief Whip.
He emphasised the importance of adhering to the constitutional procedures in such cases, citing the recent unexpected vacancy in the Nenggiri State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat as an example of the correct decision-making process.
