The project to build two rows of multi-story shops was carried out by the Urban and Housing Development Board (LPPB), consisting of 12 units and costing RM7 million.

“Right now we are starting the first phase to build six shop units at a cost of RM3.5 million,” its chairman, Datuk Masiung Banah, informed while visiting the construction site of the project yesterday.

He said the construction of the first phase of the project on a 1.17-acre site will take 18 months to complete before proceeding with the construction of the second phase.

Masiung, who is also the Kuamut Representative, said that two units of the two-story shop will be proposed for hotel accommodation.

Meanwhile, the remaining units are used for commercial businesses, including Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).

According to Masiung, the two-story commercial building will be sold for between RM565,000 and RM619,000 for the side unit.
