Its president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, said that Warisan had initially won the DUN Sindumin seat before the incumbent departed from the party in October 2021.

He expressed confidence in retaining the DUN Sindumin seat in the future, citing the strong backing from the local community.

Mohd Shafie highlighted his recent visit to Kampung Pantai Sipitang in DUN Sindumin, where he received a warm reception.

He emphasised that Kampung Pantai has always been a stronghold for Warisan, with consistent victories in the area since the party’s establishment.

Following the departure of Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr. Yusof Yacob from Warisan to become an independent Assemblyman supporting the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government in October 2021, Mohd Shafie acknowledged the people’s unwavering support in the region.

He expressed hope that this support will endure leading up to the upcoming state election.
