KOTA KINABALU: The Federal Government will closely monitor the implementation of all federal physical projects or developments in each state planned for this year.
The Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the Minister of Rural Development and Territories, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said that this step needs to be taken to ensure that the development projects are implemented promptly.
He said there is a need to find ways to expedite the implementation of various planned projects without neglecting the governance set by the government.
In this regard, Zahid hopes that the Coordination Meeting between the Minister of Rural Development and Territories and the Rural EXCOs (MEXCLUB) 2024 can help coordinate the implementation of federal development projects at the state level.
He said this includes coordinating and balancing the lengthy open tender procedures while adhering to the governance of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy.
Zahid made these remarks to reporters after chairing the meeting in Kota Kinabalu today.
The inaugural MEXCLUB Coordination Meeting was also attended by representatives from FELDA and NADMA, the agencies responsible for flood disasters in rural areas.
