Joseph Kurup passes away

KOTA KINABALU: Former president of the Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) Tan Sri Joseph Kurup has died. He was 80.

It is understood that Kurup passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur.

He is survived by his wife, Puan Sri Melinda Mak Soak Fong, and six children.

In January of this year, Kurup bid farewell to the political arena, retiring from his role as the president of PBRS.

His son, Arthur, who currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Pensiangan, has now assumed the presidency of PBRS, following in his father’s footsteps.
