SEMPORNA: Four individuals were injured when a bridge in Kampung Bangau-Bangau, near here, collapsed yesterday.
According to a spokesperson from the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department, the incident was reported to have occurred at 8:04 p.m. last night, resulting in two victims being sent to the Semporna district hospital for further treatment.
He said that the other two victims, who only suffered minor injuries, were treated by the EMRS team.
“The fire and rescue department received an emergency call at 8 p.m. and immediately rushed to the scene of the incident.
“The 300-metre-long bridge collapse caused a nearby house to also collapse, resulting in a motorcycle falling into the sea,” he said in a statement here today.
According to the statement, the injured individuals were identified as non-Malaysian citizens.
