TUARAN: Sabahans are urged to take advantage of the tradition of visiting during major celebrations, especially Aidilfitri, to strengthen the spirit of unity and harmony among races.
In making the call, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said that, besides being happy to see Aidilfitri celebrated not only by Muslims but also by those of other religions, the visiting tradition can strengthen friendships and the spirit of community among people.
“This is what we always do during celebrations, especially Aidilfitri. Visiting is commonly done during the celebration of Syawal.
“This can indirectly strengthen family ties and enhance the unity of our people,” he said.
Hajiji said this when he met at the Open House hosted by his political secretary, Datuk Abdul Kassim Razali, in Kampung Tambalang, near here today.
Hajiji also advised the public to always be cautious when on the road throughout the Aidilfitri celebration.
