Ewon announces 15% dividen for Bank Rakyat’s 2023 financial year

KOTA KINABALU: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), Datuk Ewon Benedick, today announced a 15% dividend for Bank Rakyat’s 2023 financial year with the total payout amounting to RM424.62 million.

The commendable financial performance has enabled Bank Rakyat to optimize capital and maintain a high dividend payout as a reward to Bank Rakyat’s members and stakeholders for their continuous support.

In conjunction with Bank Rakyat’s 70th anniversary, Bank Rakyat is also declaring a special dividend of 2% with total payout of RM56.62 million and to be distributed based on eligible shareholdings as at 31 December 2023.

Meanwhile, Ewon said the Group continues to support its yearly mandated role to the cooperative ecosystem by contributing 2% of its profit before taxation and zakat amounting RM35.47 million to the Cooperative Education Trust Fund and 1% or RM17.74 million to the Cooperative Development Provident Fund.

Total contribution to these cooperative funds for the year 2023 amounted to RM53.21 million.

During the press conference, Datuk Ewon Benedick also thanked the Group’s members and stakeholders for the support given throughout the year.
