Sabah UMNO chief Datuk Bung Moktar Radin also expressed the party’s willingness to consider fielding a UMNO candidate in the Pintasan seat or “to support another party that collaborates with UMNO/BN.”.

During his speech at the Sabah UMNO Iftar event for Zone 1, comprising Kota Belud, Kudat, Kota Marudu, and Tuaran divisions here recently, Bung Moktar emphasised the importance of UMNO’s victory in Kota Belud, as it is the birthplace of UMNO Sabah and a stronghold of the party that previously held the Usukan and Tempasuk seats.

He stressed the need for Sabah UMNO to rise and restore its honour in the upcoming 17th state election to reclaim the seats lost when former UMNO leaders joined the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Bung Moktar highlighted that the areas previously represented by these leaders were UMNO strongholds, where they were entrusted to contest under the UMNO ticket.

However, he criticised them for compromising the party’s principles and loyalty in pursuit of power and positions, ultimately leaving UMNO without the support of their constituents.

As the party prepares for PRN, Bung Moktar stresses the importance of reclaiming the seats lost due to the actions of these former UMNO leaders who switched allegiances.
