GRS-PH Plus govt needs to swiftly deal with the water, roads, and electricity problems instead of pointing fingers at others – Jeffrey Nor

KOTA KINABALU: KOTA KINABALU: The coalition of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and Pakatan Harapan (GRS-PH Plus) must recognise that the infrastructure challenges faced by the public are a direct consequence of the previous government’s governance.

Jeffrey Nor Mohamed, the election director of Sabah UMNO, pointed out that Gagasan Rakyat Information Chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar should acknowledge this fact, considering that many leaders from the previous administration are still involved in PGRS and GRS.

He raised doubts about whether Nizam had forgotten his own past involvement in the previous government and the failure to address infrastructure issues during that time.

“We are not trying to undermine, but rather expressing our opinions and representing the majority of Sabahans who are currently struggling and encountering various difficulties in life due to the GRS-PH Plus government’s failure to tackle these infrastructure challenges.

“The people of Sabah require immediate resolutions to these longstanding issues instead of merely shifting blame onto others,” he said in a statement today.

Jeffrey Nor, who also serves as the Putatan UMNO chief, highlighted government projects such as the Kogopon Water Treatment Plant upgrade, Telibong 2, and the Ulu Padas Tenom Hydroelectric Dam project.

“The Ulu Padas Tenom Hydroelectric Dam project is not a recent concern; it has been a persistent problem, while the Telibong Phase II Water Treatment Plant project has been announced three times but remains non-operational.

“So, who should be held accountable? As Sabahans, we are eager to witness the prompt completion of these projects to ease the burden on the public. Almost every day, individuals struggle to secure clean water,” Jeffrey Nor elaborated.

Jeffrey believes that the people of Sabah are also hoping for the road issues in Sabah to be fixed immediately while waiting for the Pan Borneo Sabah Highway project to be completed in full.
