He firmly stated that any attempts to overthrow the Unity Government led by the Prime Minister should be rejected and avoided.

According to Peter, Anwar has proven himself as an effective leader during his time in office, and it would be unjust to remove him from power after just one year of governance.

He highlighted Anwar’s numerous efforts and initiatives, particularly in restoring the rights of Sabah.

“Anwar’s dedication to Sabah is evident in his commitment to upholding the state’s rights as outlined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

“For instance, the transfer of power to regulate electricity and gas supply to the Sabah state government showcases Anwar’s long-term impact and benefits for the state,” he said in a statement today.

The Melalap assemblyman asserted that any attempts to topple the current government would hinder the country’s development, especially in terms of improving the economy.

He stressed that investors have started to regain confidence in the Unity Government under Anwar’s leadership, and destabilising the political landscape would undermine all the government’s efforts to revive the nation.

“Anwar assumed office during a challenging period, with the country burdened by significant debt and an unfavourable economic situation.

“However, it is evident that PMX and the Unity Government are working tirelessly to salvage the country,” he added.

In the meantime, Peter said that KDM has lodged a complaint with the police regarding the accusations made by blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, who linked the party to the ‘Dubai Move’ aimed at overthrowing the government.

He said that three KDM leaders, namely Vice President Henry Saimpon, Secretary General Dr Gaim Lunkapis, and Information chief Dr Oswald Aisat Igau, submitted the report at the Penampang District Police Headquarters (IPD) earlier today.

“The purpose of lodging the police report is to urge the authorities to investigate Raja Petra for the crime of sedition and spreading false information.

“The claims made by Raja Petra are defamatory. I want to reiterate that KDM remains unwavering in its support for the PMX-led Unity Government,” he further emphasized.
