KOTA KINABALU: Three days from now (Dec. 25), a significant milestone will be achieved as PBS and STAR collaborate to organise a remarkable Christmas celebration at Hongkod Koisaan, Penampamg.
This joint endeavour not only aims to enhance the bond between the two parties but also to fortify the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in preparation for the forthcoming state election.
Former Petagas assemblyman Datuk James Ligunjang said the collaboration between these two parties sends a positive message to the people of Sabah, showcasing their willingness to set aside differences and work together for the betterment of the state.
“It would have been ideal if UPKO could have also been included in the joint Christmas celebration considering that they share a common voter demographic profile,” he said in his latest social media posting.
According to him, the joint celebration provides a platform for PBS and STAR leaders to engage in dialogue and discussions, fostering understanding and trust between the parties.
“By identifying common areas of interest and aligning their policies, they can strategize effectively to boost their chances of winning the state election,” he added.
Ligunjang said the event also promotes inclusivity by bringing together different ethnic and cultural groups within Sabah.
This not only strengthens GRS but also contributes to a more harmonious and united Sabah, he said.
He said it is hoped that this collaboration will set a precedent for future partnerships and collaborations among political parties in Sabah, leading to a more cohesive and effective government that can address the needs and aspirations of the people.
Lingunjang said the joint celebration between PBS and STAR is an opportunity for both parties to showcase their unity and solidarity, inspire confidence among voters, and demonstrate their commitment to working towards a common goal.
“Unity is indeed strength, and by working together, they can form a formidable coalition and ensure the success of GRS in the state election,” he added
