This partnership became apparent when Sabah UMNO Chief, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, attended the Warisan Annual General Meeting in response to an invitation from Warisan President, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Bung Moktar informed the media that he recognized the significance of collaboration and conveyed his readiness to collaborate with Warisan.

He stressed the mutual objective of both parties to serve the people of Sabah and enhance the state.

Although the specific terms of this partnership are still under discussion, Bung Moktar acknowledged the potential for it to extend to the forthcoming state elections.

Furthermore, he highlighted the encouraging feedback received from grassroots members, signifying progress towards this alliance.

“Ultimately, the final decision rests with the party leadership, but our primary concern remains the well-being of the people and the advancement of Sabah,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Shafie confirmed that Warisan and Sabah Umno will work together for the next state election.

The Warisan president said Sabah Umno chief Bung Moktar Radin had already agreed to the partnership.

Last week Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) Supreme Council postponed a decision on political cooperation amidst talks of a possible early state election (PRN).

KDM Information Chief Dr. Oswald Aisat Igau was quoted as saying that the party received many offers that needed to be scrutinised in depth.

“This matter will be decided by the party’s supreme council and will be announced later,” said Oswald.
