Be united to win back the hearts of young people, fight for UMNO’s survival – AK Mohd Yazri

KUALA PENYU: Members of the UMNO Youth Movement cannot separate themselves to rebuild and fight for the survival of the party, said Beaufort UMNO Youth chief Ak. Mohd Yazri Ak. Mohd Yahya.

He said that the recent six state election results should be a lesson to regain young people’s hearts with a new strategy and methods following the declining Malay vote for UMNO /BN.

“I believe UMNO can win back the hearts of Malay voters, especially the youth voters, if certain things can be altered and restructured because there are a lot of Malay people who still love UMNO.

“We must rise again and be resolved to rebuild UMNO’s reputation as the biggest Malay political party in Malaysia. UMNO is not dead and it will never go away, he said at the commemoration of the 74th Anniversary of the founding of the Malay National Youth Movement, held here today.

Ak Mohd Yazri said UMNO Youth must continue to play a part in keeping the party relevant so that it can be accepted by the people and lead the expected revival.

He also said that UMNO Youth as a wing should be able to reach, understand and connect with the youth so that they can support UMNO.

“This is the greatest responsibility UMNO Youth must take on at this moment,” he said.

“Today’s young people are bombarded by the mass media with stories of UMNO’s inner problems until they come to know the truth, which is often distorted by the insults and slander of the opposition.”

He urged UMNO youth leaders of all levels to “reach, understand and anchor” the hearts of the youth to support UMNO.
