Nearly RM50 million in sales and business prospects recorded during NCD in Sabah

PUTRAJAYA: The National Cooperative Day (NCD) celebration, which lasted for three days at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) Kota Kinabalu reaped record sales and business prospects totaling RM48,370,833.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said, of that amount, RM46.9 million was business prospects through 44 business matching sessions.

“While the sales of cooperatives or entrepreneurs who participated in the NCD three-day exhibition amounted to RM1,215,090.00, Madani Sales amounted to RM154,284.00 and food truck sales totaled RM101,459.00. The total amount of cash sales is RM1,470,832.

“In terms of visitor attendance, a total of 10,069 people visited the celebration for three days, which exceeded the set target,” he said in a statement, here, today.

A total of 219 booths, comprising government agencies, the private sector, entrepreneurs, and cooperatives, are involved in sales carnivals and exhibitions.

Various activities related to entrepreneurship are held, including Pocket Talk, business advisory services, inclusive business talks, and entrepreneurship quizzes.

In addition, other activities are also provided for visitors, such as artist performances, Coop Explorace, Voice of Coop, Zumba, Creative Video Competition, Prime Speech “Koperasi, Menjejak Berkah Menggarap Hikmat,” and Spiritual Night: Performance of Nasyid and Cultural Dance.”

The opening ceremony was officiated by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Haji Noor.

This year, Sabah was chosen as the host for the 2023 NCD.
