KUSKOP to introduce SWEET prog in franchise sector for women

KUALA LUMPUR: The Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Ministry  (KUSKOP) is introducing a special programme for women entrepreneurs who are interested in getting involved in the franchise sector.
Its minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick said the programme called Successful Women Entrepreneurship Engagement Talent (SWEET) is a programme under Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas).
“Recently, Pernas held the Business In Transformation (BIT) Expo 2023 in Shah Alam which involved 62 franchise entrepreneurs and I was amazed that it was dominated by female entrepreneurs.
“I welcome those (female entrepreneurs) who are interested to visit Pernas to get information or online through MyAssist MSME platform,” he said at the recording of Bernama TV’s Ruang Bicara programme, last night.
Earlier, local media reported that Kuskop had allocated RM50 million to empower franchise entrepreneurs through various financing schemes under Pernas.
At the same time, Ewon also expressed his appreciation of female entrepreneurs who carried out loan repayments without fail to the agency which at the same time gave opportunities to new entrepreneurs to venture into the service.
I appreciate all the female entrepreneurs who have taken loans from all our agencies and they are very good payers,” he said.
