PUTRAJAYA: Kinabalu Progressive Organisation (UPKO) Women made a courtesy call to Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative Datuk Ewon Benedick at his office, here, on Thursday.
The visit was led by UPKO Women’s Chief Datin Julianah Jani.
Also present were Exco Secretary Rowindy Lawrence and Exco member Mohina Sidom.
Among the topics discussed during the visit was the direction of UPKO women, especially in the field of entrepreneurship.
Julianah said, the UPKO Women’s movement plans this year are to implement several entrepreneurship programmes to further improve the knowledge and skill of the group to be more competitive.
“We also hope to work with agencies under the ministry in order to make the programmes we plan throughout the year a success,” she said.
Earlier, the UPKO Women’s delegation attended the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Women’s meeting.
Meanwhile, Ewon said, KUSKOP has 10 agencies that each has a role to help entrepreneurs, hawkers and small traders.
“Among them is Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) which provides special loans to help women, especially in the B40 group,” he said.
