Mositun wants former JPKK chairmen in Limbahau reappointed

PAPAR: Satisfied with the work of the former Village Security and Development committee Chairmen (JPKK) in the Limbahau constituency, its Community Development Leader (PPM) Datuk Johnny Mositun wants them to be reappointed for the next term so they can continue their good work.
The appointment of the 40 JPKK in Limbahau ended Nov 30, he said.
This is also as a follow up to the resolution made during the meeting of all Limbahau’s JPKK where it was decided that all appointments will be renewed while new JPKK will be appointed to replace those who do not wish to defend their post.
“We have served in Limbahau for two years from 2021 to 2022. I want to thank all of you for your hard work and service the last two years. My gratitude also goes out to the Ketua Kampung, WKAN, KAN in the constituency,” he said.
Speaking at a Christmas and New Year celebration for the former JPKK chairmen, Mositun who is also Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) vice president said he has submitted the names of those who want to continue serving the rakyat to the District Officer for consideration.
“All of you have worked so hard especially when we faced the Covid-19 pandemic. I am satisfied with what you have done and still require your services for several reasons among which are the high valued service you provided during the pandemic in your respective villages, your cooperation with the authorities, District Office and Health Department.
“Therefore, I have submitted the names of those who wish to continue to serve as JPKK chairman as some have declined re-appointment because they want to focus on their work and other commitments,” he said.
The names for the 40 JPKK chairmen post have been submitted to the District Officer to be vetted, he said adding that the names were proposed after a survey in the respective villages to gather feedback from the ground.
“I want them to be given another opportunity to carry out the duties and responsibility as JPKK. There is no reason why your service should not be continued as all of you are the best people for the job as you know what is required in your respective villages,” he said adding that the JPKK secretary also played a very important role and he also want to see that they too will be re-appointed.
Mositun also thanked Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor for the attention given to Limbahau all this while.
Hajiji, he said, has been very responsive to Limbahau adding, “we express our gratitude to the Chief Minister for always doing his best to fulfil our requests for assistance.
He also thanked PBS and party president Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Maximus Ongkili for their confidence in him to shoulder the responsibility as Limbahau’s PPM.
“As Limbahau is a new state constituency, we set up the UPPM office from the ground and my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the UPPM office staff for your hard work,” he said.
Mositun however felt that lately, he has been side lined in issues pertaining to the development in Papar and Limbahau.
“I found out that recently there were two LUC Papar meetings which I was not invited to attend. How is this so when I have always been invited to attend previous meetings? Bongawan PPM was also not invited to the two meetings.
“LUC meetings are important as it is a venue where we can raise up issues with regards to the development of Limbahau. I hope the relevant authorities will take note of this,” he stressed.
In his speech Mositun also conveyed his congratulations to Papar Member of Parliament Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali on winning the seat in the 15th general election and his appointment as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.
Also present at the event yesterday was UPPM headquarters supervisor, PPM Fredolin Totin.
