FSSH-UMS Students Participate at the Asia Youth Forum in Seoul  

KOTA KINABALU: Two groups of students from the International Relations Programme at the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) have participated in a research project for the Asia Youth Forum recently.
 
According to FSSH, the forum is part of the International Conference on Women’s Rights, and Peace 2022, held two days at the Kim Koo Museum & Library in Seoul, Korea. 
 
“This conference was co-organised by the History NGO Forum for Peace in East Asia, Women’s Human Rights Institute, and with support from the ROK Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. 
 
“There were two research topics that UMS students presented: “Why is Sexual Gender-Based Violence amongst Men and Boys Underreported?” and “Advocacy towards Ending Child Marriage in Sabah, Malaysia,” said the FSSH statement here today.
 
FSSH also mentioned that UMS student groups were represented by Nur Abyana Abd Latip, Alec Sean Tiannok Sunga, and Emiri Yamagishi. 
 
“Other members of the groups included Nurul Hazimah Rasman, Fizzie Syafviena Jailani, and Sujitah Bili. The UMS delegation was led by Dr. Ayesah Uy Abubakar as mentor of the project. 
 
“Apart from Malaysia, other participants included students from Bangladesh, Philippines, Japan, and Korea. 
 
“At the sidelines of the conference, the organisers have also arranged activities and intellectual exchanges for both students and mentors/academics at the Sookmyung Women’s University.”
