KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today arrested a man believed to have defrauded a company owner involving a project resulting in a loss of RM100,000 in 2013.
According to a source, the 35-year-old suspect is suspected of deceiving the owner of the company involved by offering cooperation to implement a dry and wet raw material supply project worth RM730,000.
It is understood the suspect was arrested at 2.30 pm at the Sabah MACC office here when he came in to give a statement.
MACC Sabah director Datuk S. Karunanithy, when contacted, confirmed the arrest and said the case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
“The suspect will be brought to the Kota Kinabalu Special Corruption Sessions Court tomorrow to be charged,” he said.
