Health ministry plans ops off at POIC Lahad Datu

 
LAHAD DATU: Temperature controlled on cold chain warehouse facilities are among plans at the POIC Lahad Datu industrial park here as it develops towards becoming a regional logistics hub.
 
This was among issues discussed in a meeting with a delegation from the Malaysia Ministry of Health who visited POIC Lahad Datu on Tuesday.
 
The Moh team, led by Roeslan Ishak, its Director of Pharmaceutical Enforcement, was on a visit to explore the prospect of setting an operation, base at the POIC Lahad Datu container port.
 
The 22-person team consisted of top officials of the MoH pharmaceutical officials at both the federal and state levels.
 
“We welcome the interest of the Ministry of Health as it is a recognition of our frontline position as the new Indonesian capital East Kalimantan becomes a reality in a couple of years.
 
“It augurs well for us as we grow to become a logistics hub for the East Asean region, and this will necessitate cold chain facilities for pharmaceutical products, “said Lynette Hoo, deputy chief executive officer of POIC Sabah Sdn Bhd, the state-owned developer of POIC Lahad Datu.
 
“We look forward to support and collaborate with POIC to ensure better services to stakeholders.”
