KOTA KINABALU: The just concluded Sarawak state election proved that Sarawakians preferred local party coalitions – Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and local party – Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), and rejected national party coalition – Pakatan Harapan (PH), said former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak
“My highest congratulations to GPS for their tremendous success in forming the new Sarawak State Government (76 out of 82 seats).
“This shows that party-based democracy is the cornerstone for continued political prosperity,” he said in his latest Facebook posting,
Salleh said political competition between parties, rather than individuals, for a mandate is the key to stability.
“This is because the winning party or coalition would be able to determine who forms the new government,” he said.
