TELUPID: Kimberly Lim, 20, was crowned as the Unduk Ngadau Borderless for the district here recently after defeating seven other contestants vying for the same title.
With her victory, Kimberly will be representing the district to the State Level Unduk Ngadau Borderless contest scheduled to be held between May 30 and May 31, of this year at the Hongkod Koisaan in Penampang.
She won a crown, a trophy, a sash, cosmetics and cash amounting RM2,000.
Kimberly said that she felt happy to have won and added that she was surprised when she was announced the winner.
On the competition this year, she described it as an affair that didn’t have usual large crowd.
“Only a small number of people were at the Telupid Community Hall – the committee members, the judges, members from MKN (Majlis Keselamatan Negara) and the YB,” she said.
She added that even close family members such as her mother was not allowed to enter the venue.
“My mother has to watch the entire event on social media,” she said.
