KOTA KINABALU: Heavy flooding hit six districts in Sabah, namely, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Beaufort, Lahad Datu, Paitan and Kudat.
At the same time, the State capital and Kudat, experienced the “King Tide”, an occurrence that is caused by the effect of orbits, alignment of the earth, moon and sun combined.
In a statement issued by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, he said that the heavy flooding resulted in the relocation of 841 people to 16 Temporary Relocation Centres as of 12 noon today.
He also said that 173 villages were impacted by the heavy flooding.
However, by 4pm on the same day, only 287 of the flood victims remained at the centres which was reduced to only seven.
