KOTA KINABALU: UMNO Sabah again reiterated that it will support the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor following the turbulent political situation in West Malaysia.
In a statement by UMNO Sabah issued late Friday night, the State UMNO Liaison committee hopes that this stance will be respected by all parties for the sake of stability, harmony and prosperity of the people and the loved State of Sabah.
The statement said that UMNO Sabah upholds the command of KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Head of the country so that all parties respect the principles of legal sovereignty.
As stipulated under Clause 3 of the UMNO Constitution, all UMNO Sabah leaders and members have given their full allegiance to the Malay Rulers and pledged to continue upholdingthe Federal and State Constitutions.
UMNO Sabah also hopes that the political tribulation in West Malaysia can be resolved wisely and harmoniously for the benefit of the country and the people.
“As the autonomous youngest sibling of UMNO Malaysia, any decisions and decisions made by the party’s top leadership will always be respected by UMNO Sabah and adapted to the autonomous power of UMNO Sabah,” the statement said.
Hence, UMNO Sabah stresses that the mandate given by the people of Sabah to UMNO Sabah in the 16th General Election will be respected and strengthen and allowed to mature.
