KOTA KINABALU: Sabah experienced a spike in the number of new Covid-19 cases with 647 recorded today.
Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Masidi Manjun said that early information indicated that 44 percent of the cases were from available clusters.
He said that the new figure included a new cluster, Jambatan Liawan Keningau which registered 38 cases.
“The Kapayan prison cluster increased with 204 new cases, which is 65.4 percent from the 312 cases recorded in Kota Kinabalu today,” he said in his latest social media post.
Masidi also said that 34 percent or 220 cases were detected from close contacts, bringing 58 new cases for Tawau, which is the highest so far for the district.
Kota Kinabalu recorded 312 new cases, followed by Tawau with 78 new cases and Keningau with 39 new cases.
