KOTA  KINABALU: A bevy of 21 models from Changchun in northeastern China stole the limelight at the Chinese Cheongsam Catwalk as part of the Sabah International Convention Centre’s (SICC) annual Big Sale Sabah 2026 event on Friday.

The occasion was a special preview for members and friends of the Sabah Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Association (Swepa) headed by Betty Epin.

“We enjoyed the models’ graceful presentation of silk-made cheongsam featuring a blend of traditional elegance and modern designs,” she said.

Organising Chairperson Lai Fui Nar expressed her appreciation to SICC Chief Executive Officer Datuk Hjh Rosmawati Lasuki for giving Swepa the opportunity to co-host the catwalk show.

Modelling choreographer Weijia Li, 63, when interviewed, said the collection of modern-styled outfits, paraded by the models, was designed specifically for older ladies.
