TAMPARULI: The Tamparuli Low Level Crossing Bridge route will reopen to motorists starting on Thursday (Oct 1, 2026).
Dr Bonaventure Boniface, Political Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Utilities, emphasised that the Public Works Department (JKR) has implemented reopening conditions with specific restrictions to guarantee user safety.
“The route is exclusively available for light vehicles with a maximum weight limit of three tonnes and a maximum height clearance of 2.5 metres.
“Heavy vehicles exceeding the three-tonne weight limit or 2.5-metre height restriction are completely prohibited from using this route,” he stated.
According to him, JKR has installed warning signs (G1 and G2) and 2.5-metre-high restriction barriers at both entrance points of the route.
“Consequently, all road users are urged to comply with the established weight limits and traffic instructions to prevent accidents and maintain smooth traffic flow,” he added.
