KTC CEO Dexter Lau fully supports the economic vision of Premier Sarawak in establishing STATOS in Pontianak

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah-based company Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Sdn Bhd (KTC), has expressed its full support for the economic vision of Sarawak’s Premier, Tan Sri Abang Johari Abang Openg, regarding the announcement of the establishment of the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office (STATOS) in Pontianak, Indonesia.

In this regard, KTC’s Executive Director, Datuk Dexter Lau, stated that KTC plans to leverage this platform to explore new investment opportunities in Sarawak.

He mentioned that this effort is expected to assist the Sarawak state government’s initiatives in realizing this economic vision.

“We sincerely hope for continued support from the government to expedite the implementation of these investments for mutual prosperity and benefit,” he said.

Dexter made these remarks during a speech at the signing ceremony of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Gardenia, a subsidiary of KTC, and Sanjung Etika Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sarawak Foundation and the Sarawak State Government in Kuching today.

Dexter noted that through this strategic collaboration with the Sarawak Foundation and Sanjung Etika Sdn. Bhd., KTC will introduce a special product and packaging of Gardenia called the “Sarawak Edition.”

“This is a special gift from us as a token of appreciation for the unique identity, culture, and pride of the people of Sarawak,” he said.

Dexter is confident that with strong support from the state government, the Sarawak Foundation, and the entire Sarawak community, Gardenia Bakeries (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd will become a new landmark of success that everyone can be proud of.
