RM1.5 billion special grant for Sabah – a testament to the Federal Government’s commitment – Mustapha

KOTA KINABALU: The minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak), Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, has described the announcement of the interim increase in the special grant for Sabah to RM1.5 billion as evidence of the federal government’s dedication to advocating for the rights of the state.

He said the increase announced by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, demonstrates that the demands of the people of Sabah continue to receive attention from the government.

According to him, the amount of the special grant received by Sabah has shown a significant increase since 2022 compared to the previous rates.

“This is a major achievement that should be appreciated by all the people of Sabah,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Mustapha added that despite this positive development, efforts to advocate for Sabah’s rights will continue until a more comprehensive and definitive resolution can be achieved.

He also expressed gratitude to all parties who continue to advocate for Sabah’s rights in a constructive and responsible manner.
