Kampung Pulau Sepanggar receives RM1 million for facility upgrades

KOTA KINABALU: Kampung Pulau Sepanggar has been allocated RM1 million under the MADANI Village Adoption Program (KAM) to enhance basic facilities and strengthen the well-being of the local community.

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak), Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, stated that this program is a government initiative introduced in the 2024 Budget, employing a Whole of Government approach that involves various agencies.

He mentioned that the allocation will be used for infrastructure repair work, including pedestrian walkways, the construction of a jetty shelter, upgrading the mosque, and improving the multipurpose hall.

He added that the government is also implementing community welfare programs through the distribution of food baskets, safety equipment, wheelchairs, and financial assistance to those in need.

“Additionally, SK Pulau Sepanggar has also received support under the MADANI School Adoption Program (SAM), which includes seven Smart Boards and ten laptops,” he said.

He made these remarks while speaking at the project completion handover ceremony for KAM in Kampung Pulau Sepanggar, near here today.
