Sabah’s political stability continues to be strengthened, serving as a foundation for development

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the state government is committed to reinforcing political stability as a primary foundation for the development and prosperity of the state.

He said that the political stability currently enjoyed must be preserved to ensure the smooth implementation of policies and development planning.

“Political stability is a fundamental prerequisite for the development and prosperity of the state,” he said in his 2026 Aidilfitri message.

He noted that the state government has outlined a more strategic direction through the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 Development Plan to elevate Sabah to a higher level.

He said that SMJ 2.0 is not merely a plan on paper but a comprehensive commitment to transform the economy, empower human capital, and ensure the well-being of the people.

Additionally, Hajiji encouraged the people of Sabah to use Aidilfitri as an opportunity to strengthen unity and renew their resolve to develop the state.

He said that the values of tolerance and togetherness within the multi-ethnic community must continue to be upheld as the foundation of the state’s stability.
