Dato’ Victor P. Paut appears to be the overwhelming favourite to head PGRS for the Keningau division

KOTA KINABALU: The political environment in Sabah is currently experiencing numerous discussions about possible alterations to the organisational framework of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS).

One of the topics being discussed is the proposal to restructure the party’s constitution from a division system based on state seats to a system based on parliamentary constituencies.

This change is expected to enhance the party’s operations and facilitate leadership coordination in each parliamentary constituency.

If this proposal is implemented by mid-year as suggested, it will create opportunities for new leadership at the parliamentary level.

In the context of Parliament P180 in Keningau, most political observers believe that Dato’ Dr. Victor Peter Paut is one of the leaders who should be considered for the position of PGRS Division Chief.

This consideration is supported by his long-standing contributions to the local community.

Despite facing various challenges in the political arena, he remains actively engaged in the field and participates in numerous welfare and community development programs.

This approach has made him one of the local leaders who is close to the people, especially in rural areas.

In addition to his involvement in community activities, Dato’ Victor P. Paut also possesses extensive experience in administration and corporate sectors.

He currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of Sawit Kinabalu and Borneo Samudera Sdn. Bhd., which indirectly provides him with valuable leadership and management experience in handling larger organizations.

In the rural areas of Sabah, active and consistent leadership plays a crucial role in enhancing the community’s confidence in a political party.
