Dashboard MA63 Accessible by End of January – Mustapha

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah and Sarawak Affairs Division, Prime Minister’s Department (BHESS JPM), is developing a dashboard to provide the latest status on the implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), which is expected to be accessible by the end of this month.

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs), Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, stated that the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, has approved this initiative as part of efforts to enhance transparency and provide the public with updates on the implementation of MA63, particularly regarding the demand for 40 percent of Sabah’s revenue rights.

“The MADANI government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, remains committed to ensuring that the rights, interests, and progress of Sabah and Sarawak are preserved and strengthened in line with the spirit of MA63, for the welfare of the people and the stability of the Federation of Malaysia,” he said in his New Year 2026 message.

Mustapha said the MA63 negotiation platform has been reinforced under the MADANI government through the establishment of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council (MTPMA63), chaired by Anwar, while the Technical Committee is chaired by Fadillah.

“This is the best achievement of the MADANI government compared to previous Prime Ministers and governments in managing the implementation of MA63,” he said.

Among the issues addressed under the MADANI government is the recognition of the Public Works Department (JKR) and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) of Sabah and Sarawak, the Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department, and the Sabah Water Supply Department as technical departments under Treasury Instruction 182.
