KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is committed to strengthening the Sabah First agenda through closer collaboration between the government and industry players, said Deputy Chief Minister III and Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick .
He said Sabah First focuses on three main ecosystems — investment, business and entrepreneurship — to empower SMEs and increase the competitiveness of local products.
In his speech on the 42nd anniversary of the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) , Ewon praised the more than 200 companies under the FSI which have been pillars of the state’s industry for more than 40 years.
Starting January 2026 , the ministry will begin a series of engagements with FSI and other industry organizations to design policy support that is more sustainable and responsive to the needs of the industry.
He also stressed that the consolidation of the transport portfolio within his ministry is an important strategy to strengthen the state’s road, port, airport and logistics networks.
Ewon invites all industry players to continue working together to make Sabah First a success and develop a more competitive Sabah economic future.
