KOTA KINABALU: The President of Warisan, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, firmly rejected claims that his party is attempting to persuade or purchase the support of the assemblymen to form a government.
Shafie described the accusations as an attempt to divert attention from the instability within the opposing bloc, emphasizing that Warisan has never resorted to dirty political tactics.
“I categorically deny the allegations that Warisan is involved in buying or persuading Adun.
Leadership must stem from the trust of the people, not through political transactions,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
He also expressed gratitude to the voters who supported Warisan in the state elections, asserting that their trust will not be taken for granted.
“We greatly value your trust. We carry this mandate with utmost humility and respect.”
Shafie reiterated that Warisan will continue to honor the people’s mandate and will act as a political party with dignity and consistency.
“We remain focused on serving Sabah with unwavering commitment—not engaging in power games that harm the people,” he said.
