Sandakan Youth Backs SAPP Candidate for Economic Revival and Job Creation

SANDAKAN: A young voter from PPR Taman Mesra has thrown his support behind Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) candidate Henley Liew Yun Ye, citing the candidate’s strong focus on economic development and youth employment for the Tanjong Papat constituency.

Rizwan Akmad, 22, said his decision to back Henley Liew came after attending the candidate’s election rally, where he outlined his vision for the area. “His speech was powerful and convincing. I believe he can deliver on his promise to improve our area and create the changes we need,” Rizwan stated.

The young voter expressed particular concern about the lack of economic opportunities in what he described as a “quiet” Tanjong Papat. He hopes the candidate’s victory in the November 29 election will bring renewed vitality to the constituency.

“My main hope is that he can create more job opportunities for young people and bring tangible benefits to the Sandakan community, especially here in Tanjong Papat,” Rizwan added.

According to Rizwan, the SAPP candidate had highlighted Sabah’s development gap compared to Peninsular Malaysia during his speech, particularly in healthcare and education. “The candidate emphasised that much more needs to be done to stimulate our state’s economy and address these fundamental issues,” Rizwan shared.

The Tanjong Papat state seat election is expected to be closely contested, with socioeconomic development and youth empowerment emerging as key campaign issues that will likely influence voter decisions.
