. KINABATANGAN: Sabah UMNO Chief and Member of Parliament for Kinabatangan, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, has voiced his disappointment regarding the interruptions in electricity and water supply that have been affecting the Kinabatangan area since September 13.
He stated that the disruptions have yet to be resolved, significantly impacting the daily lives of local residents.
“Basic issues like this should not be allowed to persist as they have a major effect on the lives of the people,” he remarked in a statement regarding the matter.
In this regard, he urged the responsible parties, particularly Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB), to promptly seek solutions, including providing mobile generators to alleviate the burden on affected residents.
Additionally, Bung Moktar expressed his appreciation for the community’s spirit, as many attended the Sentuhan Kasih Desa Madani program organized by KEMAS and the Ministry of Rural Development and Regional (KKDW) held in the Lamag constituency, despite facing disruptions in basic supplies.
“Their presence demonstrates the resilience of the Kinabatangan people and their confidence in the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance rural welfare,” he stated.
He also emphasized that the welfare of the people should be a priority and called for all efforts to be mobilized to resolve the issues of electricity and water supply in Kinabatangan comprehensively and to prevent similar incidents from recurring. – Source- UMNO Online
