KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Dexter Lau, President of the Malaysia–China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Sabah, was recently appointed as Honorary Advisor to the Malaysia Chinese Women Entrepreneurs Association (MCWEA).

This appointment is not only a high recognition of his longstanding efforts in promoting economic and trade cooperation and supporting the growth of women entrepreneurs but also symbolises the deep synergy between MCWEA and MCCC Sabah in fostering future cross-sector collaboration and resource sharing.

Datuk Dexter Lau highlighted that women play a pivotal role in today’s society and economic development. He noted that women possess not only resilience and determination but also innovation, attentiveness, and long-term vision.

“If the business community can fully harness the unique strengths of women, it will undoubtedly inject greater diversity and resilience into the national and regional economy,” he said.

He further stressed that, with the constant shifts in the global economic landscape, women entrepreneurs should actively embrace new trends, leverage cross-border platforms and resources, strengthen international linkages, and explore broader opportunities for growth.

This recognition was conferred during his participation at the “Celebrating Resilience, Driving Change” Leadership Installation Ceremony and Business Forum held in Kuala Lumpur. The event gathered Chinese women entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs, and business leaders from across the nation in a vibrant atmosphere, fully showcasing the rising influence of women in the business world.

Through experience sharing, dialogue, and strategic discussions, the forum further promoted the development and collaboration of women entrepreneurs, highlighting their resilience, determination, and innovative spirit.
