KOTA KINABALU: Owing to the fantasticturnout with anunprecedented 5,500 registrants, the primary sponsor of the “JOM! “Malaysia-China Friendship Run 2025” – thewell-known global lifestyle and performance footwear and apparel brand SKECHERS has chosen to enhance its support by sponsoring an extra 500 mystery gift boxes, each valued between RM100 and RM200.
As a result, the overall value of sponsorship gifts has surpassed RM100,000.
Today, Steven Liaw, the Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association Sabah, announced this thrilling news.
He declared that the initial 500 participants who complete the run will have the chance to select a mystery box for an extra prize. With staff uniforms and additional rewards, SKECHERS’ overall sponsorship amount has exceeded RM300,000.
This year also celebrates the 60th anniversary of Luen Thai Group, based in Hong Kong. Mr. Willie Tan, the Vice Chairman and CEO, conveyed significant support and gratitude for the event and reiterated the organization’s dedication to furthering people-to-people exchanges between Malaysia and China.
The race will commence at 6:30 am on July 27 at Padang Merdeka (Independence Field) in Kota Kinabalu, where participants will turn back near the Bay 21 roundabout in Likas Bay, totaling a distance of 7 kilometers.
SKECHERS is fully backing the event to encourage a healthy and active way of living for the people of Sabah.
In addition to donating RM60,000 in lucky draw prizes, the brand has supplied event packs containing T-shirts, eco bags, discount vouchers for 30% off SKECHERS products, bib numbers, and medals.
Out of the 350 prizes in the lucky draw, the top award is a year’s supply of shoes valued at RM5,508 – the winner will get a pair of running shoes worth RM459 every month.
