PKR ready to contest in Moyog in PRN

PENAMPANG: The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is assured of its strong foundation and historical significance in the political landscape of the Penampang district, positioning itself as the leading contender among government-affiliated parties for the Moyog seat in the upcoming State election (PRN).

Although other parties are also competing for this coveted position, Penampang PKR regards itself as the frontrunner in the race.

Joseph Alex Chang, the Chairman of Penampang PKR, made this assertion following the distribution of appointment letters to the newly appointed top-level committee members of Penampang PKR for the 2025-2028 term, held recently.

He confidently stated that Penampang PKR holds the exclusive right among government-linked parties to contest this seat.

“The party’s deputy president (Nurul Izzah Anwar) has declared that PKR Sabah will be contesting 13 seats in the forthcoming State election, and it is safe to assert that we will be contesting the Moyog seat,” he remarked.

He emphasized that PKR Penampang is forward-thinking and will steadfastly support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“We commit to fully backing the party leadership in their efforts to continue guiding this nation as Prime Minister,” he stated, highlighting Anwar as a visionary leader and one of Malaysia’s finest.

Historically, he noted that Penampang PKR has consistently held the Moyog seat for the party in the last two state elections.

“I urge all party members and leaders to unite and begin working to preserve our strength and demonstrate that Moyog PKR is resolute,” he added, stressing that for the party’s benefit, everyone, regardless of their position, must remain united.

He reminded party members and supporters to keep in mind that there is no time to waste as the election is imminent.

Joseph pointed out that some party members have adopted a laid-back approach due to the less competitive environment following the last election.

“Therefore, from this point forward, we must intensify our efforts to ensure that this seat remains with PKR,” he concluded.
