KOTA KINABALU: Warisan youth chief Terrence Au has criticised Chan Loong Wei, the Youth Chief of DAP Sabah, for failing to address a significant issue—the corruption scandal involving the state government.
According to a report by Malaysiakini, Au’s remarks were in response to Chan’s statement highlighting DAP’s contributions in Sabah after being challenged by Warisan Youth to demonstrate the party’s impact in the state.
However, Au emphasised that Chan avoided answering questions regarding DAP’s silence on the unresolved corruption scandal in his explanation.
“Why is Chan avoiding my question about the corruption scandal?
“It is disheartening that DAP, a part of the GRS government, has not addressed the rampant corruption crisis in our state.
“This party continues to remain silent and has not expressed its stance.
“Why does this party choose to be mute on such a serious matter? This silence speaks volumes,” he stated in a statement.
Au referenced several videos released by a businessman who claimed to have bribed several Sabah assembly members in exchange for obtaining mineral exploration licenses in the state.
