KOTA BELUD: Retirement marks the beginning of a new life phase, filled with challenges to explore in the quest for life’s meaning, stated Usukan Assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
However, he emphasised that retirement does not signify the end of contributions to the nation and society.
“All the skills, expertise, and experiences gained during service as public servants can be valuable assets for continued active engagement and contributions, particularly to the community, through social activities or other suitable avenues,” he remarked.
Salleh said this in his speech in conjunction with the retirement ceremony “A Token of Gratitude, A Bouquet of Affection” at The Bay Edge, Jalan Kuala Abai, near here, today.
While honouring the contributions of retired educators, the former Chief Minister of Sabah noted that their sacrifices are immense and invaluable, especially as catalysts for the success of future generations.
He highlighted that each honoured principal has played a crucial role in establishing the foundation of education at the district level, which is essential for the nation’s progress.
The event, held in a warm atmosphere, was also attended by the District Education Officer of Kota Belud, Dr. Japran Hj Kusin, along with the leadership of the Kota Belud Branch of the Malaysian Headmasters Association.
