To realise that noble mission, former Sook Community Development Leader Edward Kandok believes the state government should allocate more funds to government agencies, especially the Sabah Rubber Industry Board. (LUGS).

“I believe that with good price, it will definitely be able to increase the income of rubber planters.

“This approach is also in line with the unity government’s earnest agenda to address the issue of poverty in this country, especially in Sabah,” he said in a statement, here today.

Edward said he was informed that many applications had been submitted to the LIGS, but they could not be processed due to insufficient funding to implement the group rubber planting project.

In this regard, he hopes that in the 2025 Sabah State Budget, which is scheduled to be tabled in the State Legislative Assembly next month, can take into account the interests of rural residents, especially those involved in rubber planting agricultural activities.

Edward also expressed hope that the state government would intensify efforts to improve infrastructure facilities in Sook for the benefit of thousands of residents there.
