In addition to the cabin building, the allocation also includes the construction of a waiting area in the mother and child clinic building at this polyclinic.

Penampang Member of Parliament Datuk Ewon Benedick, who conducted a site visit to the project, expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the project, which was completed on schedule.

“This is one of the small projects implemented through the special allocation for the Penampang parliamentary constituency.” On behalf of the staff of the polyclinic and the residents of Penampang who come to receive services here, I would like to thank the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department for the allocation that has been provided.

“However, there are still many needs here that have been reported to me by the doctors and nurses here, especially testing and treatment equipment.” I will discuss the essential needs here with my colleague, the Minister of Health.

“I am confident that the significant increase in allocation to the Ministry of Health in the 2025 Budget will enable clinics like this to be upgraded or have the much-needed medical equipment added,” he said.

According to Ewon, during his visit to the Penampang polyclinic at the end of last year, he was informed about the need for cabin buildings to be used for the rehabilitation and tuberculosis centre due to congestion in the current building.

Following that, he took action to secure funding for the construction, which is now completed.
