KOTA BELUD: Kg. Kiau, nestled at the foot of Mount Kinabalu and recognised as a prime rural tourism destination, has been selected as the MADANI Adopted Village by the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick.
Ewon announced that the official launch of Kg. Kiau as a MADANI Adopted Village will take place on December 8, coinciding with the inauguration of the Kg. Kiau Tamu Desa and the distribution of PANTAS grants.
“I have chosen my village, Kg. Kiau, as a MADANI Adopted Village because I recognise the significant needs and development opportunities that exist here,” he stated.
“I hope that this selection will enhance the existing facilities in Mukim Kiau and contribute to addressing the challenges and needs of the villagers, particularly regarding development issues.”
“My ministry will take the lead in the development of Kg. Kiau as my adopted village.”
“During the launch event, I plan to invite various federal and state government agencies to facilitate villagers in accessing information about the services provided by these agencies,” he added.
He made these remarks while speaking to reporters after officiating the Moginakan Kiau 2024 Festival at the Kg. Kiau Nuluh Multipurpose Hall and the inauguration of the Kiau Cultural House on Saturday.
