SANDAKAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor announced an allocation totalling about RM4.25 million for the repair and upgrading of public amenities here.
He said RM1.25 million would be alloted for repairing and upgrading of the Sandakan general market.
Another RM1.4 million would be for building additional parking lots at the Duchess of Kent Hospital and RM1.6 million for additional parking at Kampung Sim-Sim here.
“This is for the convenience of the Sandakan people,” he said when met after visiting the market here Thursday.
On the grouses of the people following the State Government’s decision not to allow the Ramadan Bazaar this year, Hajiji said it was unfortunate but the decision have to be made.
“What is important is to protect the people from the pandemic. It is done with good intention,” he said.
The Chief Minister said it was imperative that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to be strictly adhere to.
