KUDAT: The UMNO grassroots must be willing to uphold the party’s policies in order to regain dominance after the 17th State Election, according to Sabah UMNO Chief Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar Radin.
He said it is crucial for the foundation of the party’s struggle to be deeply ingrained in every member and grassroots, serving as a guiding principle.
Bung Moktar said to regain dominance and achieve success in the 17th State Election, it is imperative for UMNO to rely on the strength of the party rather than just spirit alone.
Effective approaches and strategies are needed to win the hearts of voters, both within and outside the party., he said.
Bung Moktar said this during the UMNO Kudat Division Meeting at Dewan Masyarakat Tun Mustapah here on Thursday.
Also present were UMNO Sabah Secretary Datuk Jafry Arifin, Sabah UMNO Treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, and UMNO Supreme Council Member Datuk Mohd Rafi Alli Hasan.
According to Bung Moktar, the task of strengthening the party does not solely fall on the division chief and leadership team but requires the collective effort of the party’s grassroots working together as one team.
“As a party with a well-organised system, UMNO leaders and members should understand the importance of unity, consolidation, and implementation in order to pave the way for UMNO’s return as the dominant party in the upcoming state election,” he said.
